Babar Awan, Federal Minster for Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs, has said that the present Government is doing all its best to raise the living standards of backward and remote areas and is determined to improve the lot of the masses at large.
This he said while presiding a meeting of delegation of lawyers’ from District Bar Associations Haripur and Mansehra here on Wednesday.
He said that democracy is a system of Government in which everyone has the share and Government is fully committed to strengthen democratic institutions for the welfare of the people and prosperity of the country.
The members of delegation presented various problems faced by them. The Federal Minister said that Government is fully aware of the difficulties of lawyers and ensured that these will be resolved soon. While giving grants of Rs. 20 lakh to District Bar Association Haripur and Rs. 20 lakh to District Bar Association Mansehra, he further explained that Government is providing assistance at District and Tehsil level Bars irrespective of their political affiliation and without any discrimination.
He said that only a conducive environment will enable the lawyers to perform their duties in accordance with their professional ethos. He also stressed that young lawyers should come forward and make their contributions for the supremacy of the Constitution and rule of law.
The delegation praised the commitment and efforts of Law Ministry for the welfare of Lawyers and said that for the first time in the history of Pakistan any Law Minister has visited different Bar Associations across the country and invited them to visit the Law Ministry.
The delegation was comprised of Sardar Abdur Rauf, President, Mohammad Niaz Khan, Vice President, Mohammad Ashfaq Lodhi, Secretary General District Bar Association Haripur. Shahjahan Khan Swati, President, Kamran Rehmani, General Secretary, Sardar Muhammad Mushtaq, Vice President, Arshad Mehmood Qureshi, Joint Secretary, Malik Abdul Qadoos, Member Surveillance Committee District Bar Association Mansehra. The delegation invited the Federal Minister to visit their Bar Associations. The Minister accepted the invitation and promised to visit their Bar Associations.
